A huge thank you to all the Middleton families and friends who supported the Fun Run fundraiser! We are thrilled to share that we raised over $48,000, which will fund field trips (including bus transportation), in-school programs, teacher grants, and other curriculum enrichment activities. We are still accepting donations through Tuesday if you haven’t had a chance to donate. You can also check to see if your employer will match your contributions.
To our Fuller Meadow families--we appreciate your understanding and flexibility due to the changes caused by the Middleton wildfires.
The Fun Run is the PTO's biggest fundraiser, so we wanted to outline how these funds are spent throughout the year. The graphic below details how the Middleton PTO raised and spent our funds during the 2023-24 school year. 80% of the budget was spent on field trips (including buses) and educational in-school programming. Field trips include visits to the Museum of Science, the tide pools/Seacoast Science Museum, the Boston Tea Party boat, and many others (the full list of field trips and in-school programs appears below).
Last year, we launched our teacher grant program and hope to expand it in the 2024-25 school year. Teachers applied for funding to create a student-maintained garden at Howe-Manning, purchase STEM coding and literacy books for the library, and generate other creative educational activities. Remaining funds were spent on teacher and staff appreciation, school community events, teacher supplies, and donations, such as books.
The 2024-25 PTO spending priorities will align closely with last year's, with the vast majority of the budget spent on field trips and in-school programs. Building upon the teacher grants program, should our budget allow, is also a focus for the PTO. Your help in fundraising makes this possible, and the success of the Fun Run was an amazing start; so THANK YOU for your support in enhancing the educational experience for Middleton elementary school students!
