Middleton PTO Newsletter - Oct. 1, 2024

Message from the MPTO President

Welcome to October, Middleton families! There is a lot going on this month, and we can’t wait to start gearing up for two of our school community events: the Fun Run and the Pumpkin Festival.

The Fun Run is an opportunity for Middleton students to build character and get exercise while raising money for our schools! Our goal this year is to raise $35,000 for field trips, transportation, curriculum enrichment, in-school programming, and teacher support to benefit ALL students at Fuller Meadow/Howe-Manning. Information and links on how to donate to your child’s run will be going home in backpacks soon (you can either donate per lap or at a flat rate). We ask you to share the donation links with family and friends. If you can attend, the run will be held during the day on Oct. 29.

The Pumpkin Festival is a fall event for the whole family, and features games, performances, crafts, a bake sale, and FUN! This year’s Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Howe-Manning Elementary School. Additional information on the events is below. We can’t wait to see you there!

Internet Safety for Parents - Info Session

The Middleton PTO is thrilled to bring Katie Greer, internet safety expert, to speak with parents/guardians during an information session on Monday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 pm in the Howe-Manning cafeteria (Fuller Meadow parents are also welcome and would benefit from attending!). This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about how to help your kids navigate technology safely. Please register by clicking here so we know how many attendees to expect.

Fuller Meadow School Council

Are you interested in being a parent representative on the Fuller Meadow School Council? The School Council is an advisory group composed of the principal, parents, teachers, and community members. This group is responsible for developing a school improvement plan based on the Tri-Town Union District Goals.  The committee meets four times a year after school and members commit to a minimum of two years.  Interested parties should submit their names via email to ptomiddleton@gmail.com by Friday, Oct. 4.  If there is more interest than available spots, parents will be able to cast election ballots (more information will be provided if needed).

Fun Run!

The biggest curriculum enrichment fundraiser of the year, the Fun Run, will take place on Oct. 29! As a family, you will work together asking friends and family to donate on your student’s Donation Page at MyBooster.com. The best part is that you can still support our school just by SHARING about the fundraiser! Families can register on mybooster.com beginning Oct. 4.

Students will also experience an amazing character enrichment program called “Castle Quest,” teaching students about how to be brave and live with character.

Pumpkin Festival

The annual Daytime Pumpkin Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at Howe-Manning Elementary School! This school community event for the whole family will feature games, performances, crafts, a bake sale, and FUN! Additional details to come!

School Community Restaurant Fundraisers

Stop by Maggie’s Farm on Nov. 4 and La Main Italian Pizzeria on Nov. 19 to support Middleton Public Schools! A share of the proceeds purchased from 4 pm – 9 pm will be donated to curriculum enrichment at our schools.

Teacher Wish Lists

If you are looking for a way to support your child’s teachers, you can purchase needed items from their teachers’ wish lists!

Taekwondo Fundraiser

Is your child interested in martial arts? U.S. Taekwondo is hosting a four-week special for $30 if you sign up by Oct. 15. 100% of the proceeds for Middleton students will be donated to the MPTO. Click here to register.
